We’re Making Waffles is an asymmetrical shawl that was designed in collaboration with Knits4Comfort yarns. Jenn has terrific colorways! Thankfully she picked out the colors this time, otherwise I might still be deciding. She has created 6 unique colorways for We’re Making Waffles, click here to view them!

Alternating bands of garter stitch with a slipped stitch pattern creates an interesting textured knit. I’ve flipped the color dominance in the Waffle Stitch to create contrast.

The pattern is quick to knit and easy to follow. Tables are included in the pattern to keep track of your rows and stitch count.

Measurements taken after blocking: 16”/40.6cm at deepest point x 88”/223.5cm wingspan.

The design uses three colors, one variegated and two solid or semi-solid colors. Sample was knit with Knits4Comfort Simple Sock Yarn (75% Merino Superwash, 25% Nylon), in the Sand & Shells Colorway. Each skein has 231 yards/50g.

Sand & Shells Colorway
Variegated Color (VC): Sand & Shells variegated color
Contrast Color 1 (CC1): Turquoise
Contrast Color 2 (CC2): Lilac

Gauge: Unblocked in garter stitch on US #4/3.5mm, 24 sts and 54 rows = 4”/10cm. Gauge is not critical, although a different gauge will affect the dimensions and yardage.

A special thanks to Coral and Kathie for testing the pattern and of course to Jenn for her beautiful yarn!
