West Gresham is the sibling hat to East Portland.
Both are DK, both are fun to knit, both have lots of texture and visual interest. Because texture is the best-ture no matter where you are!

Yarn
approximately 165 (185, 200) yds/151 (170, 183) m total DK-weight yarn, split between two colors as follows: 135 (150, 160) yds/123 (137, 146) m cA, 30 (35, 40) yds/27.5 (32, 36.5) m cB. I used Knitted Wit Victory DK in Unicorn Giggles (cA) and Aquamarine (cB).
For the optional pompom: approximately 50 yards if you want the same size as mine.

Finished measurements
Small (Medium, Large): 16 (18, 20)“/40.5 (45.5, 51) cm circumference; 8 (8.5, 9)”/20.5 (21.5, 23) cm from brim to top.

To pom or not to pom is the ultimate question, in my humble opinion, when it comes to hats. I’m forever torn on pompom usage, but always agree that a removeable pompom is ideal. When attaching a yarn pompom like the one shown, I always tie it on and leave the tails free so I can untie and NOT use it when desired. For the pompom shown on West Gresham, I used a Clover pompom maker, medium-ish sized (it’s the light green, smaller one in the “Large” pompom maker set, and measures approximately 2.5”/6.5 cm across).
