The WFH (Working From Home) Poncho is quick to knit and has a lovely, flattering drape and a wide asymmetric neckline.

The main body of the poncho uses an alternating brioche stitch which provides texture but still gives a nice loose, soft material. The neckline is worked in a 12 stitch plait for a cosy border which provides interest without being too fussy. The WFH Poncho is about de-stressing, after all!

On that theme, to help keep things simple, the poncho is knit as two flat rectangles that are then sewn together to create the classic shape.

Using DK wool (which would have knit to 22st x 30r using 4mm needles), the brioche stitch gives 14st x 36r and the whole garment uses just 270g / 695yards / 636 meters, which will hopefully mean you can pull the materials together from your stash.

The finished poncho measures 12” wide at the neck, is 17.5-20” long (length varies because garment sits on the diagonal) and is approx. 50” wide at the bottom.

Although the pattern uses DK wool, a two page bonus guide is included showing how to adapt the pattern to any yarn/gauge, with a worked example using Rowan Fine Lace.

Finally, this pattern is given for free in the hope that it provides a bit of a lift to anyone who finds knitting good for stress in these stressful times. I hope you enjoy it.
