Whale Pillow is a large crocheted animal pillow shaped as a soft, rounded whale. The body is worked in dense double crochet using two strands of cotton yarn held together, giving the pillow a firm structure while still keeping it soft enough for use as a cushion. The design is built from separate crocheted parts.

The main body is worked in the round, starting with increases in blue before changing to sand for the underside. The whale is then stuffed firmly and finished with safety eyes, eyelids, fins, and a shaped tail.

The construction requires attention during shaping and assembly. The tail is worked in two sections, while the fins and eyelids are sewn on afterwards. The finished whale measures approximately 30 cm in diameter, 100 cm in circumference, and 20 cm in height.

Design details
Whale Pillow is defined by its rounded body, contrasting underside, and soft sculptural details. The two-strand crochet fabric gives the pillow enough firmness to hold its shape, while the separately made fins, eyelids, and tail create a clear whale expression. The pattern is suitable for crocheters who are comfortable working in the round and sewing several pieces together.
