The Wheat Stitch Sweater is a top down pullover that blends easy comfort, modern style and Wheat Stitch™ texture. And there’s no sewing required.

Because it’s worked from the top down, you can try it on as you go and tweak the length and fit to suit your wardrobe. Choose a shaped neckline with optional short rows or a clean, boxier look without them.

✨ What makes it work

• Ribbed neckline first. Worked in rows, then joined to crochet the yoke in the round.
• Optional short rows. They gently raise the back of the neck for a more natural fit. Directions for both styles are included.
• Smooth yoke increases. Shaping contours around the shoulders and upper body.
• Body and sleeves top down. Divide for the sleeves, work the body to the hem ribbing, then finish each sleeve with a ribbed cuff.
• You’re not on your own. Video tutorial and written pattern included.

• Yarn: Vintage DK, Berroco (52% acrylic, 40% wool, 8% nylon, 290 yds/100 g) or Malabrigo Arroyo (100% superwash merino, 335 yds/100 g). Colors shown: 866 Arco Iris and 063 Natural.
• Yardage, one color: 1200 (1350, 1500, 1650, 1800) (1950, 2100, 2250, 2400) yds
• Yardage, two colors: Ribbing and sc rounds 460 (520, 575, 635, 690) (750, 810, 865, 925) yds. Puff stitch rounds 740 (830, 925, 1015, 1110) (1200, 1290, 1385, 1475) yds.
