When the sun goes down HAT is slightly slouchy, very simple and fast to knit hat. It used knit and purl stitches and worked in the round.

There is no stranding because you use one color each round.

For this hat you can use two colors or as many as you want (it’s a good design to use your left over yarns), but remember – if you are using only 2 colors you don’t have to cut the yarn every time you are changing the colors, using more than 2 colors you will have much more ends of yarn to weave.

Sizes (head circumference) and yardage (total yarn required):
S (46-51cm / 18-20inches) 130m/140yds
M (48-54cm / 19-21inches) 160m/175yds
L (51-56cm / 20-22inches) 175m/190yds
XL (58-61cm / 23-24inches) 190m/205yds

Other materials:

  • Circular needles in two sizes – first in size needed to obtain gauge, second in one size down. (For the sample I was using 4mm and 3,5mm / US6 and US4)

  • Tapestry needle

  • 1 stitch marker

  • Optional: pompom making tool
