The Whimsical cowl is ‘whimsical’ because of the jingle bells on the drawstring, but does not have to be worn as a cowl - it will also work as a child’s hood or capelet. (The size featured will fit up to approx age 5 comfortably, but could easily be modified.)

Gauge is not vital for this project, but knitting as per these instructions will use every scrap of one 50g ball of sock yarn.

Whimsical Cowl is knit from the top down in the round, with an icord drawstring held in an integrated placket, and shaping at the bottom. It is a quick knit thanks to the loose gauge and is an excellent stashbuster, requiring one ball of sock yarn held double with something beautiful!
