The “WHIRLWIND” crochet motif is made in one piece without cutting the yarn with the exception of the last round. I used multi-colored yarn. However, you can switch yarn after a round or use a solid color - it’s up to you!

For making this sample, I used Ambiance YarnArt (size 3: DK/Light yarn weight) and hook 4 mm. I got the triangular motif 15 cm (6 in) height.

A little suggestion: use the hook without a handle. You will have a step where you need to fit the 27 loops on your hook, so it needs to be long enough for that.

You may use any yarn to make it. If you are advanced in crocheting, you may use different yarn but in the same weight. Gauge is not important. This pattern is designed to teach you how to make freeform motifs, so feel free to change your yarn, stitch counts, play with texture, and more! Have fun!
