A whirlwind is a weather phenomenon in which a vortex of wind forms due to instabilities and turbulence created by heating and flow (current) gradients. Whirlwinds occur all over the world and in any season.

The garter stitch pattern creates a warm and reversible fabric, and the short-row construction of this cowl allows extra fabric to warm up the throat and protect it from turbulences and gusts of wind.
The cowl is also a little asymmetric, to get a modern design.

The pattern requires some knitting skills : knit, purl, ssk, k2tog, picking-up stitches, garter stitch, provisionnal cast-on, 3 needles bind-off and short rows.
