Fourth in the Washing in the Waiting Room series, this is the most complex. These cloths are a study in texture and stitch technique, and are great to take along for those long waits before appointments. This modified version of mypicot.com’s #0031 is denser and takes a bit more time than the other three. It imparts loads of texture finished off with a pretty reverse single crochet border.

Size
One generous size. 10” square after blocking.

Materials
85 gm (178 yards/163 meters) of DK weight yarn.
Sample shown in Bernat Softee Baby Cotton color 52003 Feather Gray.

US size G (4mm) hook (or size needed to attain gauge)

Stitch markers

Wool or yarn needle

Gauge
5 shells x 10 rows = 4” (10cm) in center pattern stitch after blocking
