There is nothing quite like the moment in spring, when the snow finally melts away and the fields and forests are once again worthy of comfortable exploration.

It’s at these times of the year when I slide into a much loved cardigan, grab my kiddos and head back out into nature to take in all of the sights and smells of a fresh new growing season.

Yarn: Lakes Yarn & Fiber, Hayden DK (100% merino; 280 yards / 265 m per 113 g), 4 (5, 5, 6)7, 7, 8, 8 skeins Alces (MC) and 1 skein Heartwood (CC)

Needles:

• Size 6/4mm, 36”/90 cm circular knitting needles for working flat
• Size 4/3.5mm 36”/90 cm circular knitting needles
• Size 4/3.5mm, 48”/120 cm circular needle to work front edging
• Size 6/4mm dpns (set of 4), or longer circular needles for magic loop
• Size 4/3.5mm dpns (set of 4), or longer circular needles for magic loop

Notions:

• 4 stitch markers
• tapestry needle for weaving in ends
