The wrapover cardigan is knitted in one piece, from the bottom up, starting with the back. It is worked in garter stitch.

You knit the back from the bottom up, adding on extra stitches for the sleeves. Part way through the sleeves you cast off stitches for the back neck. Then you knit each side in turn, downwards from the shoulder.

Materials:

  • 78-80 grams DK yarn.
  • 3 small, flat buttons.

This is a very small garment. 92sts at 22sts per 10cms comes out at a finished chest measurement of 41.8cms, or 18.4”. Be sure to check your tension and consider adding more stitches.

The sleeves come out quite narrow. Therefore consider adding a few more rows to deepen them.

You are probably going to need at least 300 metres of yarn. Judging by metreages other people have used, you’ll manage with 60-80 grams only if you use acrylic.
