This is a lovely faux cable hat which is deceptively easy to knit. I have supplied links to my YouTube tutorials covering the techniques mentioned. The result is a soft, squishy hat with loads of texture.

It is knitted from the bottom up starting with a plain brioche stitch fold over brim. I have started with the Italian cast on using a smaller needle but you can use any stretchy cast on you prefer. The stitch pattern has a 16 stitch repeat.

The pattern has been tech edited thanks to Emily Wakeling and test knitted to ensure you have the best possible knitting experience.

NEEDLES
3.25 mm (US 3) and 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles 40 cm long or DPNs if preferred.
2.75 mm (US 2) circular needle 40 cm long if using the Italian cast on (optional).
Set of 5 DPNs 3.5 mm (US 4) 15 cm long for top of hat or longer circular needle for magic loop.
Tapesty needle.
