The WiFi Hat - suited to men and women - lets you have the look of cables without the cable needle. (Thus the punny name: this hat has all the fun of cables without actual cables – just like wifi!)

This hat’s attractively hemmed brim means no interruption to the color work.

If this is your first time trying stranded knitting, you will find plenty of tips in the pattern to help make your first color project a pleasure. (This was the first color work project for both of the test knitters, and you can see how beautifully theirs turned out!)

Yarn

For smaller size (21.5”): Option 1: KnitPicks City Tweed DK; 55% merino, 25% alpaca, 20% Donegal tweed; 1 skein each in: MC: Tarantella (brown) and CC: Desert Sage (green)

OR Option 2: KnitPicks Wool of the Andes Tweed; 80% wool, 20% Donegal tweed; 1 skein each in: MC: Prussian Heather (navy) and CC: Down Heather (light gray)

For larger size (22.5”): Choose a worsted-weight yarn. The beige and white hat pictured at left uses Cascade 220.

(This is not mentioned in the pattern, but if you are knitting the hat for someone with a very large head -- i.e., larger than 24” -- I would recommend using DK weight, casting on 128 sts instead of 112, and following the rest of the directions as usual.)
