Your little girl will be as cute as can be in this gorgeous lace dress! Featuring a scalloped picot hem, a lace pattern resemblant of a field of wild irises, a pretty picot neckline, and straps that tie into a bow, this dress has all of the girly details that will make her go “squee!” The dress is gathered at the waist to create a ruffled skirt that is also majorly twirl-worthy. Perfect for frolicking around in the backyard or a more formal occasion, she can wear this dress again and again. Wear it on its own or make it more modest by layering it over a shirt and tights. Any way she wears it she will be sure to have tons of fun and thank you for being so sweet to knit her her new favorite dress!

Machine Knitting Pattern

I used my LK150 mid-gauge knitting machine to make this dress. As long as you are able to get the gauge, you can use your knitting machine. All of the lace is done manually, and I have a video tutorial walking you through every step of making the dress here!

Hand Knitting Pattern

For the hand knitting pattern, this dress is worked in the round from the bottom up using a US 5 (3.75mm) circular needle, or the needle size needed to obtain the gauge. The gauge for the hand knitted dress is slightly different at 20 sts and 29 rnds = 4” in St st. The lace pattern is given both written and charted. Lots of photos and helpful tips are included to make your knitting experience fun!

Enjoy!
