This pattern was done to make the hat look like the head of Douglas from where the wild things are. You can opt to not put the ear flaps on this hat as they are not required.

take note there is a small section for the mohawk that is done in KNITTING… it very beginner knit stitches nothign fancy. Also there was an alternative option put in the pattern that is crochet for those that can not do both. *
