Wildcard cowl is a simple reversible cowl in 5 colours. Knit up in fingering weight yarn, it’s very lightweight, yet cosy and warm due to a second layer. It’s a perfect project for mini skein sets or using up your favourite leftovers.

Size: The instructions are for one size, but the dimensions are easily adjustable. Circumference: 52 cm / 20 ½” and height: 22 cm / 9”.

Yarn: fingering weight, sock or 4ply. Allow approximately 80m of each colour. Yarn used in the sample is Ainsworth & Prin Slubby Sock (5 x 20 g / 80m / 87 yds)

Gauge: It is not crucial for this project. Sample gauge is 24 sts x 32 rs = 10 cm / 4” in stockinette worked flat after blocking.

Needles: 3.25mm / US 3.

Supplies: Row counter, waste yarn, DPNs for grafting, tapestry needle.

Techniques used: short rows, picot edges, Finchley graft, mattress stitch.
