Willa The Bat
Difficulty Level
Intermediate.
It will seem deceptively easy at first, the wings are more challenging. Stick with the
pattern though and you should work everything out just fine.
This is a fairly quick project.
You can sew as you go, or save all of your part attaching until the end. Personally I sew
as I go, and the instructions are written in this manner. If you prefer to do all your sewing
at the end, just flip back through the instructions for proper placement of body parts.
Materials
Yarn, 2 colors, 1 = Main Body Color, 2 = Accent Color
I used Red Heart, 4 ply acrylic yarn for mine. Difference in yarn used could cause a difference in the over all finished product. Whatever you choose to use, make sure to use the same size and brand for both the main and accent colors for best results.
Hooks, 4.0mm and 1.9mm
Pollyfill stuffing
18 mm Safety eyes (may need larger if using larger yarns)
Scissors
Darning Needle
Stitch Key
Ch = Chain
Sc = Single Crochet
Inc = Increase
Dec = Decrease
Sl St = Slip Stitch
MC = Magic Circle
F/O = Fasten off
St = Stitch
Picot = ch2, sl st in second ch from hook
Notes
This pattern, unless instructed otherwise is done in rounds.
All rounds will end with “Sl st to beginning st, ch1”, the “ch1” here does not count as a stitch.
Instructions given in brackets “” are to be repeated x amount of times. X will be indicated through pattern instructions. An example of this would be “sc,incx6” would mean to repeat “sc, inc” 6 times around to get the desired number of stitches at the end.
Later sections will state that you are to crochet (about) x amount of times. In these sections it’s perfectly fine if you have a few stitches more or less than indicated in this pattern. I find this number changes depending on the stitches people use to back track along the section, and with various tensions/yarn types.
