Willalooka Beanie
A classic cabled beanie worked in the round from the brim up. The brim transitioned into repeating cable panels across the body. Crown shaping is integrated into the cable pattern. Shown in multiple sizes; smallest Baby size includes optional ties for secure wear. Works well in wool or wool-blend yarns with good stitch definition.
Difficulty Level
Intermediate
Pattern gauge ranges from 17 to 26 sts per 4”/10 cm
A Note on Gauge: To ensure a perfect fit with different yarn, this pattern is structured by gauge. Please see the “Instructions Hub” on the next page to find the correct one for your project. It is highly recommended to knit a swatch in Stockinette stitch, wash, and block it to accurately measure your gauge and choose the correct version of the pattern for your project.
(Important Note: While the gauge swatch is worked in Stockinette Stitch for standardization, the main body of this headband is worked in Cable stitch. The pattern instructions, stitch counts, and measurements have been mathematically adjusted to create the correct size based on your Stockinette gauge swatch.)
Sizes / Head Circumference
Baby (3-6 m): 14-16 in / 35-40 cm
Child (4-7 years): 19-21 in / 48-53 cm
Adult M: 22-23 in / 55-58 cm

Materials
Knitting Needles: 16” / 40 cm circular needles and Double Pointed Needles (DPNs)
A Note on Needles for Baby Sizes: For the smallest sizes, the hat’s circumference may be too small to comfortably work on a 16” / 40 cm circular needle. Use Double-Pointed Needles (DPNs), a short circular needle (e.g., 9–12” / 23–30 cm), or the Magic Loop method for knitting the main body of the hat.
Notions: Stitch Markers, Tapestry Needle, Scissors, Cable Needle, Measuring Tape.
