A companion accessory to the Willow shawl. Along with the Willow Fingerless Mitts, all three accessories can be made using two skeins of Keld Fingering.

Materials
Eden Cottage Yarns, Keld Fingering (90% superwash extrafine merino/ 10% linen) (360m/ 393yds per 100g skein) Colourway: Wild Raspberry; 1 x skein

One 2.75mm / US 2 circular needle (or the size needed to obtain the correct gauge), 40cm in length (or longer for magic loop)
One 3mm / US 2½ circular needle (or the size needed to obtain the correct gauge), 40cm in length (or longer for magic loop)

Stitch markers - one to mark the beginning/end of the round and 10 more if you would like to place one in between each lace pattern repeat (recommended!).

Sizing
This pattern is written for one size in terms of circumference, but it is very stretchy. It is feasible to cast on for more or fewer pattern repeats - each one measures approximately 5 cm (2 in) across, after blocking.

Beanie
Finished circumference at the brim, blocked but unstretched: 46cm (18 in)
Finished circumference at the brim, blocked and stretched: 61cm (24 in)
Finished height from cast on edge to crown: 21cm (8.25 in)

Slouchy
Finished height from cast on edge to crown: 28cm (11 in)

Gauge
Ribbing: 35sts and 41 rows to 10cm (4in) over stocking stitch in the round on 2.75mm (US 2) needles after blocking
Lace pattern: 35sts and 41 rows to 10cm (4in) over stocking stitch in the round on 3mm (US 2½) needles after blocking

Pattern notes
For informational/yarn substitution purposes only: the gauge in this yarn in stocking stitch on 3mm needles (which is the same as the hat body) is 24.5 sts x 34 rows over 10cm square after blocking. I held the yarn fairly loosely to get this gauge, in order to create a fabric that is quite open and lightweight, so whilst thicker yarns could knit up at the same gauge, lighter yarns will achieve a more similar fabric and a very stretchy fit.
