Willow sweater is worked top-down. First the upper back piece is worked while the shoulder sloping is shaped using German short rows. Stitches are picked up for each shoulder and worked separately while shaping the neckline before joining in the front. The front and the back piece are joined in the round and finished before stitches are picked up around the arm opening and worked in the round. The stitches for the neckband are picked up along the neck opening. The neckband is folded over and sewed down.
