Crochet this beautiful baby blanket for the tiny love in your life! It features a delicate lacy stitch and ribbon border that is perfect for a photo prop. It’s smallish size is ideal for preemie and new born babies.

Skills needed to complete this pattern include: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet.

This blanket will be preemie sized measuring about 24 inches by 30 inches.

It is important to understand that this blanket pattern was designed for a premature or stillborn infant. The ribbon border could pose a danger to wiggly and active babies older than newborn. Personalize this blanket by choosing appropriate colors for the gender of the baby. Get creative and choose a complementary or contrasting ribbon color.

This pattern has been written in loving memory of my baby boy,
Willow Shiloah Cole born asleep on the 22nd of July, 2011.

The Story of Willow’s Blanket:
When I was 20 weeks pregnant with our 3rd child my husband and I found out that our little bundle of joy wasn’t going to make it. He was diagnosed with a fatal malformation of the skull. He was otherwise healthy and I was blessed enough to have the opportunity to carry him almost to term. It is a tradition for me to crochet a baby blanket for each of my children and with Willow I didn’t want it to be different. I designed a baby blanket just for him. It warms my heart to think of how he was buried swaddled in it.
