The Wilsey Square Baby Blanket is a great unisex baby blanket, with lots of texture!
It is a fun and enjoyable blanket pattern, for knitters who enjoy simple knits and purls, with impressive results!

It is generously sized at approx. 26” x 34”, so your little one will enjoy it for years to come.

While it has the appearance of a patchwork blanket, it is knit seamlessly in one piece, with no finishing required (other than weaving in your ends and blocking).

Pattern includes clearly written instructions to create this blanket, which consists of seed stitch squares, surrounded by stockinette stitch, with garter stitch borders.

Materials required include approximately 550 yds chunky weight yarn and size 10.5 circular needles, 24” - 32”.

Recommended Gauge is 3.5 stitches = 1” in stockinette stitch.
Change needle size as necessary, to achieve correct gauge and/or a fabric that you like.
Since this is a blanket, exact gauge is not critical. It will, however, affect the finished size and amount of yarn used.

Sample was knit using 4 skeins of Vintage Chunky, color 6125 (Aquae).

Skills required are casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off.
Some experience with textured stitches (knits and purls) will be helpful.

Enjoy knitting this pattern, and please post photos of your finished blankets!
