Winchester Mystery Socks
A very happy spooky season to all who celebrate! This is truly the season for ghosties galore and Yarnaceous Fibers and I have taken that to heart! First I designed the ghostie fabric and subsequent project bags; then Maggie got inspired by the fabric and created the Haunted Hallows Sock Set; Then I got inspired by the sock set and created the Winchester Mystery Socks. Friends who inspire each other create cool things together!
The Winchester Mystery Socks are named after the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, California. Truly one of the most intriguing haunted locations in the world, the house started construction after a medium told Sarah Winchester that the victims of her husband’s rifle business were angry with her and demanded a place to live. For thirty eight years the house was constantly under construction until Sarah’s death in 1922. It’s said that Sarah as well as those victims still live in the mansion.
