The cozy and chunky Winding Path Cowl starts with a provisional cast-on, features a mosaic pattern for easy colorwork knitting, and is grafted seamlessly into a tube. Fold one side of the cowl down for extra warmth.

Yarn Manos del Uruguay Wool Clásica (100% handspun pure wool; 138 yd 126 m/3½ oz 100 g): #77 Eggplant (A), 2 skeins; #14 Natural (B), 1 skein. Yarn distributed by Fairmount Fibers.

Needles Size 10 (6 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Size J/10 (6 mm) crochet hook; size 10 (6 mm) or smaller circular (cir) needle; waste yarn for provisional CO and to use as a stitch holder; tapestry needle.

NOTES

  • This cowl is worked back and forth in rows, then the ends are grafted together in garter stitch.

  • Do not break yarn at color changes. Carry unused color up the side of the work until it is needed again. Bring new color under color just used.
