The Winding Rivers Hat features a lined cable brim. It is a lightweight but cozy hat that is perfect for fall. The brim is worked flat, then seamed and the rest of the hat is worked in the round, bottom up.

The adult size uses one skein of fingering weight yarn, so it’s perfect for using up that special skein hiding out in your stash.

The cable pattern will show up best in a solid or tonal yarn. The pattern gets a little lost in color changing yarns.

Because of the cable, this is an intermediate pattern. But don’t let the cable scare you. If you can work front and back post stitches, you can make this hat.

The pattern itself does not change for each size, except for the number of repeats. However, I have written the pattern so that each size is on its own individual page. I did this for the benefit of those who work on patterns digitally. If you’re going to print the pattern and want to save paper, you can just choose to print the page for the specific size you’re working on.

This pattern has been tested and tech edited. If you have any questions about the pattern, please reach out to me on ravelry or Instagram (@samsqueak) and I’m happy to help with any questions.
