A Scots name for Ryegrass, Windlestrae is a gorgeous shawl perfect for all seasons. The shawl uses one super simple brioche pattern for the gorgeous textured body, and a second brioche pattern for the border. Windlestrae is finished with a gorgeous embroidered pattern worked after blocking. Knit it with 100g of DK weight yarn for a neat shawlette, 200g for a shawl or with 300g for a gorgeous wrap. Love the pattern but want a cowlette or have 4 ply yarn? Check out Roille!

The sample is knit with 300g of Lottie Knits Aglow DK, for a cosy wrap!

The pattern is fully written and charted so whichever way you like to read your patterns, you’re covered! The pattern uses the most simple brioche stitches and a photo tutorial is included for these stitches. The pattern has been tech edited and test knitted. There’s a screenshot of the pattern and a list of the stitches used at the bottom of the photos. The shawl is finished with a band of embroidery across the shawl after blocking. There is a full photo tutorial for the embroidery pattern and no prior experience with embroidery is necessary.
