Designed for our 2021 deSTITCHnation, Amsterdam, this shawl features simple lace set-off by stockinette sections. The lace inserts are designed to echo the shape of windmill blades; the center section grows, representing the tower of a windmill. The original version was worked in sport weight yarn, but I wanted a giant shawl for winter so I knit another in bulky. This pattern has details for both.
