Slip stitches for a crisscross design in the Windowpane Stay Put Towel!

Just like the original Stay Put Kitchen towel, the Windowpane has a keyhole in the middle of the towel that allows you to hang up it up, tuck one end through the keyhole, and the towel will stay on the handle! There are no buttons to sew on – just straight knitting. Because there are two panels, the towel gives you twice the drying space of the usual knitted towel.

The Windowpane Stay Put Towel is knitted in garter stitch with slipped stitches on the sides and at regular intervals in the rows. The slipped stitches create vertical lines that help give a windowpane check or plaid effect. You may want to use two colors (yellow & bamboo) that are close in color plus a contrasting color that pops (white), but it will look great with any three colors of your choice. Instructions are given for the yellow towel.

A Stay Put Towel makes a great gift for someone special (including yourself)! Check out all Stay Put Towel designs and matching Dishcloths in Fancy Steps Knits patterns.
