I never learned the “proper” way to pour wine. I always end up with a drip sliding down the outside of the bottle. Usually, I just wipe it up with a towel, but when I have a party, I can’t guarantee that all my guests would be as considerate. So, to avoid red stains on my counter, I put these little rings/ cowls on my bottle to catch the drips.

Made with worsted weight cotton, they take about ten minutes each to whip up… And use up scrap yarn easily. You can also create little tags and clip them on the ring if you are having a tasting. You can also weave a bit of ribbon through the gaps the x stitches make and tie in a nice bow.

Stitches needed (key):
Ch - chain
Sc - single crochet
Dc - double crochet

I didn’t have anyone edit this pattern, so if there are mistakes, or it needs clarification, let me know. I wrote this up in five minutes for my friend who wanted it and just decided to share it with the general populace.
