Overlay Mosaic Crochet Pattern
This design includes 3 files, a written pattern, a 15 page chart pattern, and a chart condensed to one page. This pattern is 152 stitches wide and 173 rows high. The pattern can be done in 2 colors or multiple color changes as seen in the photo.

A basic knowledge of mosaic crochet is needed for this pattern. This does not include a tutorial on mosaic crochet. There are many amazing videos teaching the overlay mosaic technique on YouTube.

Just a quick what is it: Overlay mosaic crochet is a series of single crochet, in the back loop/bar and double crochet in the front loop/bar from 2 rows below changing color every row. Overlay mosaic crochet is worked from the bottom right corner to left, and bottom to top, never turning your work. The border stitch color is marked on the chart and the written pattern. To answer your next question, YES, this does leave a ton of ends up the sides. Don’t let this stop you though! There are several options to save you from having to sew them all in. I prefer to crochet over my ends as I work each row. There are several tutorials on YouTube for envelope borders, this technique creates a border that hides all of the ends by crocheting a pocket to hide them in.
