NOTES. Wings was one of the most loved patterns in my book Memory Lane, published by Laine. This sweater holds deep meaning for me: it is dedicated to all the women whose lives have been taken by femicide. Each crystal represents a woman’s life, a tribute to her memory.
This version is an adaptation of the original pattern. If you already own Memory Lane, you don’t need to purchase it separately.
This sweater is worked from the top down with raglan shaping. A small section of short rows is worked at the back and front of the neck for a more relaxed fit. Sleeves are worked straight and gathered at the cuff. The instructions are written to use DPNs, however an alternate method of working small circumferences can be used, such as Magic-Loop, or a short circular needle for the larger sizes. The neck is finished with an I-cord bind off and picked up to work the collar down. Beads are placed while knitting by using a crochet hook.
