This pattern borrows on the traditions of a beginning garter knit tab with the added feature of Faroese-style shoulder shaping for a shawl that stays on your shoulders. Worked in garter stitch, this is a warm and comfortable shawl with a lot of potential for playing with color.

Sizes are in small/medium with a back neck measurement of 4 inches, and large/x-large with a back neck measurement of 6 inches.

The shawl will require extra yardage in the main color - for most yarns two skeins at a DK weight will be required, and one each of the two contrasting yarn colors.

Skills required include the knit stich, slipping stitches, picking up stitches, yarn-over increases, and simple color changes for the stripes.
