Let me formally, or casually, introduce you to my newest character, Winnie Elephant! This adorable new character is, in my mind, friends with my Christopher Bunny character (check out the pattern on Ravelry and Barrett Wool Co.). The two, named with a gentle nod to A. A. Milne, can exchange clothes as they are the exact same size. Winnie Elephant has some fun twists and turns, especially in the trunk area, which makes the knitting a true adventure. I hope you enjoy this new friend for all.

By the way, I have a new long johns pattern that will fit both of the elephant and bunny dolls, if interested. The pattern is called Garter Long Johns on Barrett Wool Co. and on Ravelry.

Pattern Notes: Winnie Elephant is constructed seamlessly from the top-down starting with the head. The safety eyes are specifically placed while knitting. The ears are marked and picked up and knit on. The body is picked up at the neck and worked down. The marked arms and legs are picked up and knit onto the body. The tail is picked up and knit on. The sweater is seamless and worked from the top-down with simple colorwork. The striped pants are worked top-down with the afterthought technique used to create the pant leg openings.
