PLEASE NOTE:
Due to my inability to reliably conduct business on this site without physical problems (which cost me hours of productivity), I will no longer be selling on this platform. I encourage anyone interested in my patterns to check my IG profile, @ladyotterfae, where there are other ways to purchase.

As a new designer, I’m still exploring what reliably inspires me to dropping what I “should” be working on to flesh out a new idea. Something that has prompted most of the early entries in my design notebook is the natural world, specifically experiences/images of the natural world while traveling with my mother. This cowl is the first in a series of glimpses into that travel throughout the seasons.

Winter Beauty is inspired by the vivid winter color and striking shape of the American beautyberry, a shrub native to large sections of the southeastern and lower midwestern US. This is a cowl designed in three sizes, to allow for more or less drape, as well as a deep “hood” option.
Sample is knitted in Beautyberry (I know, right? I couldn’t resist), Uru.yarn silk DK. Any soft DK with good stitch definition and similar gauge should work as a substitute. Testers used a variety of fibers including mohair/synthetic blend and alpaca/silk/linen.
Small/Medium sizes are written to be good candidates for single-skein projects.
