Winter Berry was inspired by two things: the need for a quick knit to keep my ears warm when I didn’t want to wear a full hat, and the need to use up some leftovers in my yarn stash. This pattern uses up that last little bit of worsted weight yarn you have in your stash, and adds a touch of of suri (or mohair) that elevates even the cheapest acrylic yarn to something that feels inrresistably soft and warm. The textured stitch remind me of the tight bundles of holly berries my boys and I see hanging from trees when we take walks, and the simple ribbed border provides a nice stretch that conforms to the wearer’s head without feeling too snug or too loose.

This pattern contains instructions for both the worsted and lace weights held together, as well as the worsted alone.

This pattern is also available for purchase on my Etsy shop.
