Sometimes you just need a warm shawl to wrap around you like a big, yarny hug. This top down shawl is a quick knit in aran/chunky yarn and will have you feeling cozy in no time! It has lots of stockinette and garter for easy knitting, with a few pattern rows that will keep you engaged - and loads of squidgy texture!

Video tutorials of special pattern stitches are included in the pattern for those who prefer visual instructions.

Gauge: The recommended gauge is not critical, but will affect the fabric you get, the final size of your shawl, and the amount of yarn required.

Materials/Notions:

  • aran/bulky weight wool or wool blend: 410-500 yds (375-457 m). The sample was knit out of 454 yds/237 g (just under one ball) of Cascade Eco in the Charcoal colourway.
  • 4 stitch markers
  • darning needle
  • scissors or snips

Huge thanks to Liz, Patricia, Marilyn, Anne, and Sydney for test knitting, as well as my tech editor Nicky Jensen for her awesome feedback.
