The shifting pattern of broken rib coupled with the dappled blue and grey yarn mirrors a wintry day on Lake Michigan. And it’s close-fitting construction paired with wool and mohair will keep you warming if you’re darning enough to face its winter wind and waves.

The cowl has a 19.5” circumference and a height of 9”. It’s intended to be worm close to the neck and can be pulled up over the mouth and nose on particularly gusty days. The pattern includes instructions for making a larger circumference cowl if desired.

The pattern does not require a full skein of either yarn and the two yarns held together can be substituted for a DK weight yarn.
