This hat was the first color-work pattern that I designed. I couldn’t decide what to name the pattern, so I hadn’t written up the pattern. I took the sample hat to Friends & Fiberworks in Candler, NC, and asked the ladies, who I sit and knit with often, what I should name it, and they all suggested Winter Lights. (Thanks again ladies!!)

Fits 23-25” circumference
8” H X 8” D

Materials
—16-inch circular needles size 6 (4 mm)
—16-inch circular needles size 7 (4.5 mm)
—Secondary 16-inch circular needles size 7 (4.5 mm) or DPNs for decrease section (unless you are using magic loop)
— 1 skein (100g) of worsted weight yarn in solid color or variegated color for Color A
— 1 skein (100g) of worsted weight yarn in contrasting solid color (or very lightly variegated) for Color B
— 1 skein (100g) of worsted weight yarn in contrasting solid or variegated color for Color
