This luxurious rectangular wrap is based on a simple k2, p2 rib, with ribbed cables used to create a woven texture. The wrap is fully reversable with no right side. Knitted in baby alpaca laceweight it is light and warm, and can be worn as a wrap or a scarf.

The pattern is a multiple of 32 sts plus 8 sts with a repeat over 32 rows, so is adaptable to other sizes than shown. The finished size of the wrap here is approximately 36cm x 140cm, when relaxed after blocking. It can be worn open as a wrap, but is fine enough to be gathered together as a scarf.

Several knitters have adapted the pattern to produce fabulous cowls - do check out their projects.

Requirements:
3mm needles and a cable needle.
Lace weight yarn: 150 grams/1200 meters. 3 balls of Morris & Sons Maya Lace Baby Alpaca in Silver Fox used here.
A couple of safety pins or stitch markers.
