My first successful knitting project was a pair of argyle socks for the man I later married. Over the last fifty years I have knit many, many pairs of socks for my husband, including lots of argyles. The time seemed right to try some variations, so I added Fair Isle designs to the diamonds. There is also a selvedge stitch in a contrasting color to insure a matched back seam. These remind me of hot cocoa on a winter morning. They would also be great in green and white on red for Christmas or navy blue and white on light blue for a winter look.
