This mitten pattern is inspired by quiet winter evenings in northern Sweden, where the snow glows softly under the night sky. Our cats loved being outside, no matter how cold it was. On snowy mornings, I often found their tiny paw prints scattered across the fresh snow — a sweet trace of their nighttime adventures.
These mittens capture that peaceful, magical feeling: snow-covered trees, a cozy house on a hill, and a curious cat wandering through the winter night.

The overall shape of the mitten and the cuff motif is based on Selbu mittens by Anne Bårdsgård. I designed these mittens to fit my own hands, so some people may find them a bit tight or short. If that’s the case, I recommend adjusting your gauge by changing the needle size or yarn weight. You can also add your own modifications — I look forward to seeing your versions!
