Winter Shadows Mittens are part of the Winter Series E-Book.

Winter Shadows Mittens hold elements of each of the hats from the E-book are will go with any of the hats from the book. These mittens start from a Mosaic band with a cable detail and the backs of the mittens are mirrored to each other and the patterning is asymmetric. Sizing is provided with needle size options.

Pattern Charts are coloured for easier reading and following.

Bavarian Travelling Stitches – a method of moving stitches across a background to create simple to complex patterns. Each movement involves crossing stitches; knits over knits or knits over purls, sometimes the stitch underneath will change status from either a purl to knit or a knit to a purl. Read the charts carefully. There are seldom more than two stitches crossed at a time and never more than two stitches in these projects.

Mosaic Stitch Colour Work – a method of working a colour pattern without carrying colours across the back of the knitting. Each row of finished sts in a single colour takes two passes across the needle. The pattern can be worked in stockinet or garter st – our pieces have been worked in garter st.
