Pattern Construction
Winter Song is a DK weight, slightly cropped, top-down circular yoke sweater, adorned with a stranded colorwork design throughout the yoke and along the bottom hem. While five total colors are used for this design, only two colors are ever worked at one time. German short rows are worked flat, at the back of the neck, to raise the back of the sweater slightly, for a comfortable fit. The rest of the sweater is worked in the round.

This pattern includes two sleeve options – short or long – as well as the choice between a standard ribbing or a Two-Color Interrupted Fisherman’s Rib edge to finish the sleeve cuffs and bottom hem of the body.

This is an advanced beginner / intermediate level pattern

Suggested Needles
• Needle A - US 6 / 4 mm, 16 / 41 cm circular (for collar) plus 32” / 81 cm (or longer) circular (for hem)
• Needle B - US 8 / 5 mm, 24” & 32” / 61 & 81 cm (or longer) circulars or size needed for Stockinette Stitch gauge (main needles)
• Needle C - US 10 / 6 mm, 24” & 32” / 61 & 81 cm (or longer) circulars or size needed for Stranded Colorwork gauge
• DPNs or circulars in all sizes for working small circumferences (sleeves)

Note! If you tend to have a tighter gauge when knitting a small circumference (the sleeves) you may want to have a set of needles available, one size larger than main, to adjust as / if needed.

Notions
• Distinct BOR marker + 4 additional markers
• Waste yarn or stitch holders to hold sleeve stitches
• Darning needle and scissors
• Blocking mat and pins
