Welcome to Winter Wonderland where we will create a pillow inspired by snowy, wintry scenes. The pillow is designed to coordinate with the Winter Wonderland MKAL Shawl (aka couch blanket). This is a classic design with fun and unusual construction.

Work on your own or come cheer each other on in the KAL. We’d love to see your progress photos and there are prizes to be drawn at the end.

The textured colorwork is stunning and is created by a few simple garter short rows that do not require any special turns. Make the back in plain stockinette or reverse the colors from the front as shown in photos.

The contrasting I-Cord seam around the edges makes for a neat and decorative finish and can easily be opened on one side if you ever need to take the cover off. Other options to the I-Cord are offered in the pattern.

You can use heavy fingering to DK yarn but keep in mind that yarn qty and size may vary depending on gauge and specific yarn used. You can fill the pillow with batting or a pre-made pillow form.

If you haven’t made the Winter Wonderland Shawl yet, you can find the pattern here on Ravelry.

This pattern has been professionally tech-edited and tested.
