The winter hasn’t arrived yet, but I know already that this will be one of my most worn pullovers over the next months!
And, I am already planning on working this in a nice cotton (or silk) for next summer.

Design
This is the perfect, cosy and casual pullover for winter.
My Winterday Pullover features a circular yoke in lace-pattern, reminding me of icicles, frosted leaves, snow roses…
The lace-pattern is repeated on the sleeves, above the long cuffs.
The lower body is slightly shaped for the waist-line (optional).
The long sleeves are worked without decreases from underarm to cuff. Neckline, hem and cuffs are worked in rib-pattern.

Construction
The pullover is worked seamlessly and top-down. You start from the ribbed neckline, followed by the circular yoke in lace-pattern and the upper body in stockinette sts. Work is divided for sleeves and lower body, which are continued in separat pieces,in-the-round, and top-down. The knitting is basic with no unusual techniques involved.

Sizes
Finished chest measurements: 84/92/102/112/124/134/146 cm = 33/36/40/44/48/53/57.5”. Sample is worked in size 1, with approximately 5 cm/2” positive ease.

Materials
Yarn: Use a yarn that knits up to gauge. I used DROPS “Brushed Alpace Silk” to work the pullover. This aran weight, alpaca/silk yarn comes in balls of 25 gr/0.88 oz and 140 m/153 yards. (According to the instructions on the yarn this yarn knits up to 18 sts, which I found much too loose/gauzy). You will need approximately 750/800/900/1000/1100/1200/1300 m = 800/875/980/1090/1200/1310/1420 yards of this specific yarn to work the pullover.
Needles: size 4.5 mm/US7 for the lace and stockinette.
Size 3.5 mm/US4 for the ribbed cuffs, neckline and hem.

Gauge
20 sts and 30 rounds in stockinette/lace = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”.

The pattern
The lace-patterns are charted, as well as written out, for the lace of the yoke as well as for the sleeves.
There is a schematic.
All measurements are given in cm’s as well as in inches.
All necessary stitch-counts are given.
