The Winterfest Socks were initially inspired by one of my most loved sock designs - the Fairground Socks.

With the Winterfest Socks, I wanted to create a design that would have all the wonderful feelings of that pattern, but be perfect for a tonal yarn.

The socks feature a beautiful lace motif, that creates a pretty undulating pattern. This brought to mind mountains, and that then led to the name!

At this time as year as we move from autumn into winter, my family love to watch as many Hallmark movies as we can. Lots of these feature pretty towns, often nestled below a mountain range.

You can always rely on some kind of a ‘fest’ being celebrated in these movies, so the Winterfest Socks it had to be!

Sock Details

The socks feature a very pretty and highly addictive stitch pattern, that is easy to memorise and really makes your knitting fly. There are no complex stitches, so knitters who are new to lace could easily knit them. The lace pattern is both charted and written.

The pattern includes instructions for a traditional heel flap and gusset, and my much loved Umbrella Toe.

Sizes

The pattern comes in 3 sizes - small (56 sts), medium (64 sts) and large (72 sts). Instructions are written for the magic loop method, but other methods can of course be used.

Yarn

The pattern sample was knitted using Malabrigo Ultimate Sock in shade 611 - Ravelry Red. The tones in this yarn are just perfect for the design.
