Winterlicious is the wonderful result of a collaboration with Eden Cottage Yarns. It uses the same yarn as in my Winter Frosting and both patterns can be purchased for $10. Just pop both into your cart and it will be automatically discounted. Past purchases eligible.

Winterlicious is a semi-cropped top-down sweater with a very flattering yoke in two colour brioche and contrast eyelet garter striping.
The length is fully customizable, so you can knit it to your own desired length (If you want a longer body length, extra yarn is required).
There are two hem options - an elegant twisted rib, or a fun, colourful corrugated rib for more flow and freedom on the waist or hips.
The sleeves can be either short or full length.

Knit using the super sumptuous silky Titus DK from Eden Cottage Yarns.

Yarn: Eden Cottage Yarns; Titus DK.
100g (225m/245yds, 75% Merino, 25% Silk).
Sample shown in MC Steel (grey) & CC Rambling Rose (blush pink).
Please note that a 10% yarn contingency is incorporated into the following yarn quantities for MC, and 5% for CC. If you want a longer body length, extra yarn is required.

Yarn required for Full Sleeves and Twisted Rib Hem:
MC: 3 (4, 4, 5, 5) (6, 7, 7, 8) Skeins
CC: 1 Skein

NEEDLES

  • Size 4mm / US 6 circular needle, 80cm / 32” length (or size needed to obtain gauge) to knit the body, bottom part of yoke, and sleeves. If not using magic loop for sleeves, then a set of double pointed needles, or your preferred method of small circumference knitting, will be required.
  • Size 3.75mm / US 5 circular needle, 40cm/ 16” and 80cm / 32” length (or 0.25mm / 1 US size smaller than gauge-size needle) to knit the yoke garter, sleeve cuffs, and twisted rib hem.
  • Size 3.5mm / US 4 circular needle, 80cm / 32” length (or 0.5mm / 2 US sizes smaller than gauge-size needle) to knit the brioche section. Spare needle or smooth waste yarn for holding live sts. Tapestry/Darning needle Stitch marker: 1 total.

GAUGE
20.5 sts x 30.5 rnds = 10cm x 10cm (4”x 4”) in stocking stitch worked in the round after blocking on largest needle.

CONSTRUCTION NOTES:
Winterlicious is worked in one piece, in the round, from the top down. The EOR marker is placed at the back centre. Commencing with a garter and brioche yoke, then some short rows are worked to the back of the sweater before finishing the yoke to the sleeve and body separation. The body is then worked to the hem. Finally, the sleeves are worked from the top down.
You can shorten/ lengthen this garment by knitting less/ more body length before commencing the hem. Try on as you go and adjust accordingly. Please note that extra yarn will be required if you knit the body length longer than the measurement in the schematic.

There are several video tutorials linked to this pattern.
1) Jogless Garter in the round – I suggest you watch this before casting on, so you can determine if you’d like to use this method for knitting the yoke.
2) Two Colour Brioche in the round.
3) German Short rowing.
4) 1 x 1 Tubular bind off.
