The Winter’s Tale double layer mittens are worked bottom-up in the round but it’s not a double knit. At first, you will work a pair of the inside mittens in Stockinette Stitch (inner layer) and then work the outer mittens. The upper layer is worked in a lace pattern on the back of the hand and Stockinette Stitch on the palm side. After it’s done, you will insert one detail into the other and graft together for each mitten.

The pattern includes both row-by-row written instructions and charts.
