This pattern will show you how to make a large basket, perfect for holding all of your WIPs (works in progress). As written, the basket is about 15” across and 8.5” tall, but the pattern can be easily modified to make the basket smaller or larger.

You’ll want to make sure to match gauge so that the stitches are nice and stiff; this will help the basket stand on its own and prevent the sides from flopping over. I used 3 skeins of WATG Mixtape Yarn (a super bulky T shirt yarn) and a size N/P 10.0mm hook. If you’re a looser crocheter, I would recommend sizing down the hook size to match the gauge.

The basket uses reverse sc (aka “crab stitch”) for texture, but if you really don’t like that stitch, you can still make the pattern by substituting regular sc for those rounds.

You’re welcome to do whatever you’d like to with finished products made from this pattern but if you do sell them, I ask that you link back to my page.
